Connect your AI

This article explains how to authorize an AI such as Claude or ChatGPT to work on your sites. You will be able to connect it, choose its rights site by site and take them back.

Before you start

  • You need a subscription to an AI that accepts custom connectors, such as the common Claude and ChatGPT plans. Lovely Render does not make you buy any API token.
  • You never give your password to the AI. You grant it precise rights, site by site. You take them back whenever you want.
  • The AI acts under your account. It never receives more rights than your role on the site.
  • The AI works in Staging. It puts your site online only if you gave it the right to.

Add the connector in your AI

  1. In your AI application, add a custom connector.
  2. Give it the address https://mcp.lovelyrender.app/mcp. No username or secret is requested.
  3. Start the connection. Your AI opens a Lovely Render page so that you can choose its rights.

If you are not logged in, the page first shows Sign in to choose what it may do. Log in with your password and your code: your request stays pending.

Grant the rights

The page is titled … would like to act on your sites, in your name, with the name of the AI at the start. Under Your sites, each site has a block with your role and the rights you can grant.

  1. Uncheck the sites the AI must not touch. Their rights disappear from the page.
  2. On each site you keep, check or uncheck the rights one by one.
  3. Click Authorize. The AI receives its rights and you return to your AI application.
The page Claude would like to act on your sites, in your name: under Your sites, the site Atelier Sauge and the Editor role, then its rights checked, except Move contents to the trash, in orange with the note unchecked by default. At the bottom, the Refuse and Authorize buttons.

Refuse grants nothing. The AI is informed.

Only the sites where your role opens at least one right appear. If none allows it, the page shows You have no site to grant.

Choose each right

A right you do not hold yourself is not listed. The heaviest rights start unticked and show in orange with the words unticked by default.

Take back or change the rights

  1. At the top of the dashboard, click your initials, then Account.
  2. Scroll down to the Connected assistants section. Each AI appears there with its connection date and its sites.
  3. Check or uncheck rights.
  4. Click Save the rights. The message The rights have been updated. appears.
The Connected assistants section of the Account page: Claude, connected on October 10, 2026, its rights on Atelier Sauge, the sentence Unchecking everything withdraws the assistant entirely and the Withdraw access and Save the rights buttons.

To cut access at once, click Withdraw access. The message The assistant no longer has access to your sites. appears. Unchecking everything has the same effect. To reconnect the AI later, go through the authorization page again.

A change applies from the AI’s next action. Your rights are reread at each action. If your role is lowered or you leave a site, your AIs lose the matching rights at the same moment.

An AI that no longer reaches any of your sites carries the note This assistant no longer reaches any of your sites.

Know what the AI does on your site

  • It searches your contents, your media and your icons. It reads your design system.
  • It creates pages and entries with the real blocks of your site, your colors and your media. You reopen each page in the editor as if you had composed it.
  • It edits an existing page. The blocks it does not touch come back identical.
  • It animates your blocks, translates a page into another language of the site and imports photos from Pexels with the credit of their author.
  • With the matching rights, it reads your statistics, sets your design and reworks your templates and your content types.

On a site with several languages, the AI asks in which language to write before creating a content item.

Know the limits of the AI

  • It moves a page or a post to the trash if you allow it, and can bring it back. It deletes a media item or a composition for good only with the matching right, and only when no page uses it anymore.
  • It cannot compose every block of the site. It names the block it cannot edit. You make that touch-up in the editor.
  • It does not write in a new version and does not publish it.

Find what the AI did

Each content item it writes keeps the date of its visit and its name. Its changes stay in the content’s revisions, where you can go back.

The site history names the person and their AI, for example “Julie Garnier via Claude”. On the Publish website to production screen, the Last saved by column shows “Julie Garnier, with Claude”.

Three lines of the history: Julie Garnier via Claude edited the page City gardens, edited the entry Vegetable terrace in Rezé and added a media file, in Staging.

React to a blocked assistant

An assistant installed on your computer, such as Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code, calls Lovely Render from your Internet connection. If it fails about twenty times in ten minutes, your connection is cut for one hour. The cut applies to Lovely Render and to your sites.

  1. Wait one hour.
  2. Check that the connector address is https://mcp.lovelyrender.app/mcp.
  3. Reconnect the assistant.

If the failures start again, the next cut lasts twice as long. Claude and ChatGPT, on the web and in their apps, are not affected.
