Accessibility issues are flagged to you as you write

A photo without alt text (its description for people who cannot see it) or a heading at the wrong level is flagged to you in the editor. You fix it on the spot.

A page being written with the Accessibility panel open: two points to review, one of them an error. A photo of vines has no alt text and tabs rotate on their own with no pause button. The photo is selected on the page.

The Accessibility button counts your errors and your points to review

Errors are in red and points to review in orange. It picks up what a machine can see. Each point links to the RGAA criterion behind it, the standard that audits follow in France.

The Accessibility button in the toolbar, with a red badge and an orange badge.
  • When you add headings

A heading that skips a level, or a page that starts without a main heading. Once fixed, the page outline stays readable for a screen reader (the software that reads the page aloud).

  • When you add an image

An image without alt text. Describe it, or mark it as purely decorative.

  • When you add a video

A video without subtitles, or one that moves on its own with no button to stop it.

  • When you add a button or a field

A button made of a single icon with no name read aloud, or a field whose label is hidden and empty.

  • When you build the header and the footer

A page with no main content area, or two menus that nothing tells apart.

  • 53%

of the home pages of the million most visited sites have at least one image without alt text (WebAIM, February 2026).

You judge what to fix before you publish

An image without alt text shows in red because nothing justifies it. A point in orange is one only you can judge.

You save and publish whenever you want.

Your colors and your live pages are checked

  • You see whether your text is readable on your colors

The contrast between a block’s text and background shows as soon as you choose its colors, in light mode and in dark mode.

  • Your live pages are checked when you visit them

When you visit your site while logged in, you see what is left to fix on each page. The whole page is checked as it displays.

Your pages can be browsed by keyboard and screen reader with no setup

Press the Tab key: the first link on this page leads to its content.

  • A visible outline around the link or button reached with the keyboard

  • Pause and menu buttons read out in the page’s language

  • A pause button by default on a looping video, a slider or tabs that rotate on their own

  • Error messages tied to the field they relate to

  • Each page’s language announced to screen readers

You review what a machine cannot judge

The panel flags what a machine can decide. The rest needs a human review.

The meaning of your text

Alt text can be there and say nothing. A link can stay vague.

The full keyboard journey

Go through the page from start to finish using only the Tab key.

Your accessibility statement

Write it like your other legal documents. Every edition is kept and dated.

Frequently asked questions

Am I required to make my site accessible?

No, except in three cases. The public sector is required to. Companies with more than €250 million in turnover in France have been since 2019.

Since 28 June 2025, a European directive has covered shops, banks and transport tickets sold online to consumers. Service microenterprises are exempt (fewer than ten people and no more than €2 million in turnover or balance sheet total). If in doubt, talk to us about it.

Will my site comply with the RGAA?

No, not from the tool alone. Compliance is declared after a human audit of a sample of pages.

Before the audit, you fix the errors a machine can find. They are the ones an auditor picks up first, so their work is shorter.

Do my visitors see these alerts?

No. The panel shows in the editor. The check of your live pages only shows to your logged-in team.

Are all my pages checked at once?

No. Each page is checked when you open it in the editor or visit it while logged in. No table brings all your pages together.

Can I add an accessibility plugin to my site?

No. A plugin placed on top of a site does not fix its pages. What counts is the alt text, the headings and the labels you write.
