# Publishing

# Your site goes live when you decide

Your visitors don’t see the site you’re preparing. You review every change there, you publish and you roll back if needed.

A preview link for your clients — Your site stays open while you publish — Five previous versions to restore — The requests you receive stay in place

### Your site in preparation

You write, you try out a design and you show the result. Search engines can’t get in.

### Your live site

Nobody edits it directly. Your changes reach it when you publish.

## Your work in progress stays offline

- ### A client reviews the site without creating an account Send them a preview link. They visit the site you’re preparing without seeing the admin. You choose how long the link works.
- ### Your live page stays intact while you redesign it Create a new version of the page. You write it for as long as it takes and the live page doesn’t change.

## Your changes are listed before each publish

![The Publish the site to Production screen, under the heading Changes to publish to Production. The Legal documents group is open. The privacy policy, edited by Claire Roussel, moves to edition 6. The gardening workshop terms have a new version saved by Hugo Lemaire. The Pages (2 changes) and Projects (3 published) groups are closed. At the bottom, a note says that settings are not shown. Then come the confirmation checkbox and the Publish to Production button, greyed out.](https://static.lovelyrender.com/uploads/2026/10/178-produit-publier.png)

### Everything that changes

Your pages, your content, your legal documents and your design, grouped by family.

### The last person to save

You see who last saved each piece of content and when. When an AI wrote on behalf of a member, its name appears.

### A checkbox

The Publish button stays greyed out until you tick the box. A stray click publishes nothing.

## Your site stays open throughout the publish

If a publish fails, your live site goes back to how it was on its own. You can close the tab.

## Your work goes live and your requests stay in place

Publishing or rolling back touches nothing your visitors have produced. A quote request received this morning stays in your list.

- Requests sent through your forms
- Your visit analytics
- Your Google and Bing search data

## Your site keeps its five previous versions

Each publish saves your site as it was before it. You find the five most recent in the version history.

- ### Browse a version Visit your site as it was. Your live site and your site in preparation don’t change.
- ### Take it back into preparation This version replaces your site in preparation. You correct it, then you publish.
- ### Put it back live Your content, your design and your settings go back to this version together. Your site stays open during the operation.

## You choose who puts your site live

Publishing requires the administrator role and the Can publish right. An agency keeps it for itself and its clients write in preparation.

### Every publish has a name

The History on your dashboard shows who published or put a version back live, and when.

### We publish only when you ask

Our team publishes for you when you ask. The name of the person who did it appears in your History.

## Frequently asked questions

*### Can I publish a single page?*

No, you publish the whole site. To stop a page you’re redesigning from going live with it, create its new version. The live page doesn’t change until that version is published.

*### If I roll back, do I lose the requests received since?*

No. A version holds your content, your design and your settings. Requests received since stay in your list.

*### What if I want to go back further than five publishes?*

Yes, with our team. Your site is backed up every night away from its server. We can put it back as it was on one of the last nights. [See backups](https://lovelyrender.com/hosting/)

*### Is my site down while it’s being published?* — No. Your visitors see the old site until the very last second.

*### Does the Publish screen show everything that will go live?*

No. It shows your content and your design. Your settings go live without appearing in the list.
