# Embed The **Embed** block displays a video, a post, an audio player, a map, a presentation, a form or a calendar from an approved provider in your page. It starts from its address or its embed code. This page describes how to embed, the accepted providers, the shape of the frame and what the provider learns about your visitors. ## Embed content Three actions place an **Embed** block. | Action | Result | | --- | --- | | Paste the address alone in an empty paragraph | The paragraph becomes an **Embed** block. | | Paste the provider’s embed code into the page, the one from **Share** then **Embed** on YouTube for example | The **Embed** block keeps the address from the code. | | Insert the block from the inserter | The block waits for an address. The following steps detail this action. | 1. In the editor, open the inserter and choose **Embed**, or search for `video`, `youtube` or `map`. In the **Embed URL** field, paste the address or the embed code of an approved provider, then leave the field. The field keeps only the address from an embed code. 3. If the address is accepted, the content appears in the block. 4. Paste it in the **Embed URL** field. ## Accepted providers When the **What to paste** column shows an address, the address of the page is enough: the site derives the address of the provider’s player from it. For the others, paste the embed code the provider gives under **Embed**, or under **Share** then **Embed**. | Family | Providers | What to paste | | --- | --- | --- | | Video | YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, TikTok, Loom, Wistia | The address of the video. | | Video | TED, VideoPress | The embed code of the video. | | Social networks | X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest | The address of the post. | | Social networks | Bluesky | The embed code of the post. | | Music and podcasts | Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts | The address of the track, album, playlist or episode. | | Music and podcasts | Mixcloud, Bandcamp, Ausha, Acast | The embed code of the player. | | Maps and tours | Google Maps and Google My Maps, OpenStreetMap, uMap | The embed code of the map. | | Maps and tours | Matterport | The address of the tour. | | Maps and tours | Kuula | The embed code of the tour. | | Maps and tours | Doterr, the map of digital mediation places of the Centre-Val de Loire Region | The address of the map. | | Presentations and documents | Google Drive | The address of the file, shared with anyone who has the link. | | Presentations and documents | Google Docs, Sheets, Slides | The code from **File** > **Share** > **Publish to the web**. | | Presentations and documents | Canva, Genially, Issuu, Calaméo, Scribd, Speaker Deck, SlideShare | The embed code of the document. | | Forms | Typeform, Google Forms | The address of the form. | | Forms | Tally, Jotform, Microsoft Forms | The embed code of the form. | | Booking and calendars | Calendly | The address of the booking page. | | Booking and calendars | Google Calendar (calendar or booking page), Zenchef | The embed code of the calendar or booking widget. | An address shortened by the provider, such as `vm.tiktok.com`, `pin.it` or `forms.gle`, is not recognized: paste the full address or the embed code. ## When the address is refused The block keeps the address and shows **This type of URL is not accepted. Contact the technical team if this seems wrong.** Write to us to request a provider. We add it if it serves its pages over HTTPS, allows embedding and stays stable. A map must have its equivalent as text in the page, an address or a list of places. The **Insert as a simple link** button replaces the block with a paragraph that carries a link to the address. **Warning:** Any address pasted alone in an empty paragraph becomes an **Embed** block, even the address of an ordinary page. To make it a link, click **Insert as a simple link**, or paste the address in the middle of a sentence. ## Settings tab | Setting | Effect | Default value | | --- | --- | --- | | **Embed URL** | The address or embed code of the content. | Empty | | **Title (accessibility)** | The name of the content, announced by screen readers. When empty, it is replaced by a generic label that tells the visitor nothing. | Empty | | **HTML anchor** (**Advanced** panel) | An identifier to point to the block with an address ending in `#`. | Empty | ## Styles tab The block can be set in the **Default**, **Hover** and **Active** states. For a video, it takes the shape of the player: 16/9, or 9/16 for TikTok. It briefly shows **Aspect ratio set automatically to** followed by the ratio. For all visitors and with no setting, the site reduces what this request reveals. | Information | Received | Detail | | --- | --- | --- | | The visitor’s account | No | The content opens without the visitor’s cookies: the provider does not link the visit to their Google, Meta or Spotify account. | | The address of your site | No | The provider sees a Lovely Render site, the same one for all sites. | | The IP address and the browser | Yes | As soon as the player loads, when the visitor scrolls near the block. | The player does not know the visitor’s account. Spotify plays only 30-second previews and a YouTube video reserved for logged-in people does not play. Instagram or Facebook posts appear without likes or comments. **Tip:** For no third party to see the visit, place your video in a [Media](https://lovelyrender.com/documentation/media-block/) block: it is served by your site. ## On a phone A shape set by the aspect ratio keeps its shape at every width: a 16/9 video stays 16/9 on a phone. A fixed height stays the same whatever the width. ## Accessibility The **Title (accessibility)** is the name that screen readers give to the embedded content. Fill it in.
